Sail If you're looking for a family sailboat in the
daysailor or catamaran range you have come to the right
place. Our specialty for over twenty-five years has been
making fun family sailboats from 8 to 18 feet. American
Sail got its start in 1976 with the purchase of the Aqua
Cat catamaran that has now been in production over 42 years
and was recently inducted into the National Sailboat Hall
of Fame. Over the years we have grown to offer many more
sailboats in our line including a larger version of the
Aqua Cat, the Dink line of tenders, and four daysailers
that are the Aqua Finn, Pennant, American 14.6 and American
18 Daysailer. All of our sailboats are designed for family
fun and not hard-core racing. One person can rig each boat
in the line in less than 20 minutes. Every boat is also
setup to be sailed by one person. We want you on the water
enjoying our product and not spending lots of time at the
boat landing trying to figure out how to step the mast and
looking for a crew to sail. Years of enjoyment await those
who choose an American Sail sailboat. Our dedication to
quality, service, and value has resulted in one of the best
reputations in the sailing industry. We invite you to take
a tour of American Sail's full product line of catamarans,
daysailors, and dinghies.
School The Arques school, in Sausalito, California,

Sail Inc. Aquarius Sail Inc. was established by Tom
Haberman in the early 1970s to provide sail, trampoline,
and canvas repair to Midwest sailors. Within a few years
Aquarius Sail was not only doing sail repair, but providing
parts and service to the catamaran community. In 1980 the
owners of Aquarius Sail visited the Chicago trade show and
met two gentlemen from a sailboat company called Formulae
Racing Sailboats. One of these gentlemen was Bill Roberts
and they were promoting their new catamaran design, the
SuperCat 20. The owners of Aquarius Sail were so impressed
by the new design that they immediately signed on to be
one of the first dealers for SuperCat catamarans. The name
change of the SC-22 to ARC-22 in the year 2000 reflects
Aquarius Sails philosophy of being committed to a strict
one design fleet program. The superior performance of the
22 design has been demonstrated in both long distance and
triangle racing venues since 1992. The decision to solidify
the design was in response to the current 22 owners desire
to level the playing field in the future.

Marine Corp Founded in 1983, Bauteck Marine Corporation
is dedicated to designing and producing small boats of exceptional
quality, performance and reliability. While cruising throughout
the world, Christof and Laurie Bauer realized that a good,
hard dinghy was hard to find. So, after assessing the requirements
for the "perfect yacht tender," Christof designed
the bauer 10. In 1988, the bauer 8 was introduced and the
newest addition, the bauer 12 daysailer, made its premiere
in late 1996. All bauer boats are constructed of hand laid
and chopped fiberglass, have an interior liner, displacement
hull design, high freeboard, wide beam, full length skeg
and keel, high loading capacity and exceptional stability.
Retractable centerboards and kick-up beaching rudders are
standard features on all sailing models. Classic lines,
exceptional performance and quality without compromise are
the hallmarks of all bauer boats. A wide variety of options
are available. All of our boats are custom made to each
owner's specifications and can be purchased factory direct.

Yacht Design Cook Yacht Design designs sailing yachts
of many types and sizes, thus far ranging from an 11' one-person
dinghy, to an 85' maxi yacht with a crew of 25. One of our
recent areas of concentration has been in offshore cruising
yachts, but we have also designed daysailers, offshore one-designs,
and numerous one-off racing yachts. Most of our designs
have been built of fiberglass or composites, but several
have been wood or metal, as well. The firm was started on
1977 with the launching of the radical and highly successful
one-tonner, Rogue's Roost. Since 1993 we have been located
on Cape Cod, an easy drive from either Boston or Providence,
and right in the middle of one of New England's best cruising
Trimarans There are 12 especially unique and desirable
qualities that make Corsair Trimarans the best. Indeed,
no other full-production trailerable trimaran design offers
all 12. 1. Extraordinary speed and effortless acceleration
are trademarks of Corsairs. Their ability to fly on a puff
or generate their own high-power apparent wind is legendary.
Without a lead keel to create drag, and with tangible buoyancy
in construction technique and materials, Corsairs are powered
effortlessly by their high-performance sails. 2. Comfortable
stability at any speed and in almost all sea conditions
is simply a feature of beam and buoyancy. Heel (often unpopular
with sailors) is restricted to about 15 degrees; which feels
like about five degrees on the broad, flat deck and trampolines
of a Corsair. 3. Superior safety is inherent in the design
and construction of these boats and it stems from the same
features that make them sail flat and fast. Corsairs can't
sink. In fact, with all hulls filled to the brim with water,
the positive buoyancy of the materials of construction keep
the vessel afloat even with all crew aboard. 4. Trailerability
is not a hassle. It's an advantage. Especially since it
only takes a single owner about 30 minutes to go from trailer
to sailing and back again after a couple of practice runs.
Corsairs fold up and pull out effortlessly, mast-down in
moments, tow easily and smoothly, and save you a bundle
on slip fees and seasonal storage. 5. Accommodations are
ample and designed for extended cruising aboard the larger
models, or streamlined for racing on all models. Berth areas
are sufficient and comfortable, appliances an option, shower
if you want one. You're apt to lounge on deck or in the
cockpit most of the time, but when you do go below you'll
have all the comfort you need. etc.

for maximum protection from the elements.

- J Boats
The story of J/Boats is a classic entrepreneurial tale:
With a $20,000 investment, and a speedy 24-foot sailboat
that Rod Johnstone built in his garage, Rod & his brother
Bob Johnstone went into business. That was 1977. Now, that
boat (the J/24), has become the most popular recreational
offshore keelboat in the world. While other manufacturers
may sell more boats, the Johnstones have won the high-end,
performance-oriented segment of the market. Theirs is the
so-called racer/cruiser category: boats that perform well
enough to race but which are comfortable and easy enough
for the family to daysail and cruise. It is with knowledgeable,
experienced sailors that the Johnstones have done best.

two passionate sailors, Earl Elms and Herb Shear. Operating
under the name Chubasco (storm on the water), Elms and Shear
designed the original Snipe mold used to build the famous
McLaughlin Snipes that dominated the World Championships
for over 30 years. Eventually, California Snipe sailor and
veteran boat builder Mike McLaughlin, who had worked at
Chubasco most of his life, purchased the Snipe molds and
moved the operation to Tennessee in response to the relocation
of the International Snipe Headquarters to Chattanooga.
Mike McLaughlin further expanded the company's success and
helped distribute the McLaughlin Snipe on a worldwide spectrum.

Yachts Morris Yachts recently celebrated its 33rd year
of semi-custom yacht production working step by step with
designers C. W. Paine and Sparkman & Stephens. Our product
line includes sail and power yachts that have demonstrated
a reputation for luxury, performance and great value. Morris
Yachts has worked hard to become the quality bench mark
for discriminating yachtsmen around the world. Tom Morris
launched this enterprise in 1972 and was joined by his son
Cuyler in 1995. A life long love of sailing for Tom and
Cuyler has spanned 60 years. Tom, born in Philadelphia,
extended a family tradition started in 1886 of summer vacations
in Maine with his family, and at the age of 32 succumbed
to his passion for sailing. The natural beauty of Mt. Desert
Island, its down-east traditions and a rich history of boat
building were a perfect complement to his passion for sailing.

Swan Oy Nautor Ab was founded in Finland in 1966 by
Pekka Koskenkylä. Koskenkylä's intention was to
build the first 10m yacht capable of both cruising and racing,
using a fibre glass mould. At the heart of his concept was
quality, the core focus of Nautor's production process throughout
its history. Series production was considered key to the
success of the venture and precise, logistical organisation
was paramount at an early stage. Today the expansive Swan
portfolio charts the journey that Nautor has travelled,
from the inaugural Swan 36 to the ambitious 131. Nautor’s
Swan yachts are considered the ultimate ocean-going, performance,
luxury sailing yacht of unrivalled build quality. The future
continues to look bright as Nautor justifies its position
at the top of the ladder both for pure luxury and for revolutionary
technology with the opening of a new, hi-tech boatyard.
England Boatworks The roots of New England Boatworks
are tied to aluminum 12-Meters, the 1983 America's Cup,
and a "Let's see how we can make it better" approach
to the status quo of boatbuilding. NEB's present-day partners,
Tom Rich, Steve Casella, and David MacBain, began building
racing yachts, including Dennis Conners' 12-Meter, Liberty,
while working at Newport Offshore (Casella and MacBain)
and Williams and Manchester (Casella, MacBain and Rich)
in Rhode Island and at Minneford's (Casella) in City Island,

Yachts The Nor'Sea 27, Lyle C. Hess design, is a true
blue water pocket cruiser sailing sloop. The Nor'Sea 27
with its 8ft beam 3'-10" fixed keel is trailerable
(we like to use the word "transportable" because
it requires a good size truck. The trailer and boat together
are over 10,000 pounds). The new Nor'Sea 37 is the large
sister to the Nor'Sea 27. A seaworthy boat capable of long
distance ocean sailing with comfort and more room.
We have always prided ourselves on the individuality of
the yachts we build. This individuality comes not only from
our designers, but also from the customers. After all, a
yacht that you will be happy with year after year needs
to be crafted especially for you from the outset, to exacting
specifications to suit your particular cruising requirements.
We don't believe such a yacht can be made 'off-the-shelf'
and at Northshore it never will be.
Yachts The Industrial North Wind shipyard was founded
in 1973 in Sant Andreu de la Barca, where over a period
of 20 years more than 380 units have been built. In the
1990's, after a significant crisis that affected the whole
industry and which resulted in an eighteen-month shutdown
of operations at the North Wind shipyard, the company started
trading again, initially under the name of Ola Ship builders,
and since 1994 as North Wind Yard. There are currently in
excess of 500 North Wind boats sailing all over the world.
Throughout the history of North Wind, the most highly qualified
workers from other Catalan shipbuilders, such as Astilleros
Viudes, have joined the firm, making up what is today one
of the most prestigious companies in the sailing world.
Seacraft A foremost designer and builder of sailing

Yachts A passion for perfection, a love of the creative
process and a drive to build great boats brought three extraordinary
men together to build the first PDQ Yacht. These three men
were Dr. Harvey Griggs, MIT graduate in structural engineering
and the man who commissioned the first yacht, Alan Slater,
chief engineer and steadfast believer in catamarans, and
Simon Slater, Alan's son, creator of the deck design, and
the brawn behind the construction. PDQ Yachts was founded
in 1987 on a belief that a catamaran is a better cruising
sailboat. Already known for performance, their stability
and accommodation make multihulls ideal for long-range cruising.
Although catamarans were already successful in the charter
industry, PDQ decided to build a boat targeted towards cruising
couples. The result was a 2-cabin, 34-foot cruising catamaran,
which quickly gained popularity with retired professionals.

Yachts Originally established in Canada in 1995, Saga
opened its doors with its seminal design aimed at serious
cruising sailors and especially well tuned into shorthanded
cruising couples. The initial Saga 43 by Robert H. Perry
was based on lessons learned from the single-handed open
class ocean racers of the previous decade. Performance,
offshore comfort, safety and ease of handling were the outstanding
advantages of the design. In early 2006, primarily in response
to the shift in US-Canadian dollar relationship, Saga production
was moved to southern California. Today the Saga 43, Saga
409 and the Saga 48 are being built by the highly experienced
craftsmen at Pacific Seacraft in Fullerton near Los Angeles.

Schock Boat building began for W. D. "Bill"
Schock at age thirteen when he built a Skimmer in the garage
of his family's Hollywood home. After serving as a crew
chief in WWII, Bill moved into a small beach house in Newport
Beach and set up shop. He repaired the rental fleet at a
local amusement park, among other odd jobs, and started
building a cold-molded wooden International 14 for himself.
Before he finished it, another I-14 sailor discovered the
boat and talked Bill into selling it. W. D. Schock Boat
Building and Repair was in business. Bill Schock went on
to become one of the most innovative boat builders in the
world. He was the first boat builder to make a production
fiberglass boat. It was a sailboat known as the Lehman 10.
Three other fiberglass one-design boats followed - the Snowbird,
Sabot, and Schock 22. Bill also introduced a number of clever
designs that made sailboats much less expensive to own.
He was determined to make sailboat ownership a possibility
for a much wider range of buyers. Up until the advent of
fiberglass, only the very rich could own a sailboat.

as well as the Bay Area's Tom Wylie. Consider the four projects
in which he's currently engaged: a 21-ft single-handed ocean
racer, a 60-ft aluminum cruiser, a 30-ft production fiberglass
catboat and a 52-ft wood-composite cruiser.
- X Yachts
In 1979, one of today’s most successful and quality
orientated production yards was established in Denmark.
During the 1980’s, X-Yachts designed and built winning
IOR yachts for World Class Racing. Our success with this
market attracted the attention of the cruising market, which
was then looking for fast, high quality and comfortable
sailing yachts. It seemed very clear to us that we should
use our boat building experience from the fast racers and
combine this with building high performance cruising yachts.
